Ding Dong Meow

March 9th, 8pm
Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, 307 W. 26th Street, NYC

Combining storytelling and characters in a fast-paced half hour of comedy, Ding Dong Meow is not about doorbells and it’s not about cats. Sorry! It’s about a guy named Gary, Madison, Wisconsin, Oprah, a bride with a hearing issue, Old Faithful, and diarrhea. It’s about saying and doing the wrong thing at the wrong time, and then telling everyone about it on stage.
Written and performed by Andrea Rosen
Directed by John Flynn

Hosted by Kevin Allison of The State, RISK! is also a free audio podcast getting hundreds of thousands of hits each month. Slate.com called RISK! “jaw-dropping, hysterically funny, and just plain touching.” Come to The PIT to see why!  February’s Theme: Imposters.
Hosted by Kevin Allison
With Janeane Garofalo, Elna Baker, David Crabb, Margot Leitman & Peter Aguero

The Continuing Story of Carla Rhodes

March 13th, April 17th & May 22nd at 8pm
Arlene’s Grocery, 95 Stanton Street, NYC
$8
The Continuing Story of Carla Rhodes is a comedic extravaganza about a young gal’s dream of hitting the big time in New York City. Dubbed one of the “Ten New Comedians Funny People Find Funny” by New York Magazine, Rhodes brings her adventure to life through clever quips, punky puppetry and killer band. According to Backstage Rhodes is “intent on shaking up the norm.”
Her journey from teenage frustration to artistic satisfaction stars many colorful characters: legendary rockers Mick Jagger and Keith Richards; an unsightly pigeon named Herschel Ragbottoms; the fear-mongering Under Bed Alligator; and the cantankerous, salt water taffy obsessed 1920’s gentleman Cecil Sinclaire! Your socks will also be rocked by her live band The Extravaganzas.
Written by Carla Rhodes and Joe Vincent
Directed by Herschel Ragbottoms with minimal input from Cecil Sinclaire.
Original music by Carla Rhodes, Joe Vincent and sometimes with Andy Shernoff. Also, a sprinkling of covers for your aural enjoyment.
With: The Extravaganzas – Joe Vincent (Drums), Pemberton Roach (Bass), Steve Dawson (Guitar); Alissa Hunnicutt (Puppeteer); Josh Bisker (stage manager); Andrea Purcigliotti (Set Design); John Bergdahl (Poster Design); Jordan Bruner (Illustrated Backdrops)
Reservations: First come, first served.
