Gorgeous Ladies We Love: Jenny Slate (And Marcel The Shell)

Welcome to the section of G.L.O.C. called “Gorgeous Ladies We Love,” where we discuss topical news about awesome ladies who have paved the way for us, whether they are old-school comediennes who have become national treasures (seriously, one of these days there is going to be a National Treasure sequel starring Nicolas Cage, and Betty While will have to be rescued), successful women we love who are currently doing their thing on their own terms, or ladies we actually know who are on their way to superstardom (so, you know, all of us).

Last year we were a little obsessed with the “Marcel The Shell With Shoes On” video created by Dean Fleischer-Camp and G.L.O.C. JENNY SLATE. We could listen to Jenny-as-Marcel’s  voice for hours talking about his pet lint and lentil hat, so we’re psyched to hear that this masterpiece will soon become a book called Marcel The Shell With Shoes On: Things About Me. And since Marcel’s voice is one of the best parts, it will also come in an interactive digital version with audio. Awesome news, but can we please lobby for Marcel to get his own show, too? The kid’s got star quality!
