Hello! And welcome to the section of G.L.O.C. called “Gorgeous Ladies We Love,” where we discuss topical news about awesome ladies who have paved the way for us, whether they are old-school comediennes who have become national treasures (seriously, one of these days there is going to be a National Treasure sequel starring Nicolas Cage, and Betty While will have to be rescued), successful women we love who are currently doing their thing on their own terms, or ladies we actually know who are on their way to superstardom (so, you know, all of us).
G.L.O.C’s JESSICA ST. CLAIR and LENNON PARHAM have already made names for themselves on TV and in movies recently (in addition to their amazing and inspiring improv and sketch work, obvs). Lennon starred with Jenna Elfman on the CBS series Accidentally On Purpose and Jessica was in In The Motherhood, Weeds and She’s Out Of My League, AMONG SO MANY OTHER THINGS. Seriously, these two are all over the place and we love it. So get ready to see them on the tube even more, because this week, the pilot they wrote together was been picked up by NBC.
When Lennon was interviewed for this site last month, she mentioned the project, saying it was “about two best friends and the triangle created when one friend moves back in with the other friend and her boyfriend. We are hoping to tell the true story of women best friends in a real and super funny way.” HUGE congrats to the pair for actually making this happen. Are there really even any other sitcoms out there written by and starring two women in the lead roles? We are setting our DVRs as we speak, and yes, we know that “Untitled Parham/St. Clair Project” isn’t in there yet but we are JUST THAT EXCITED!
